This is a planned city in Abu Dhabi, UAE and it was a joint venture between SOC and Mudabala development company. This city is designed to be the hub for cleantech companies. first institute to invest in the masdar city is Masdar Institute of science and Technology. The area of the city is 6 square kilometres. The city will house around 45000 to 50000 people. The city was such designed that iit is pedestrian and cycle friendly. The cost of construction was 18-22 billion dollars.
